I jumped onto the PTR yesterday just to check out the changes. I was happy that they gave you the ability to just auto-level to 100 to test end game stuff. The Pit definitely has GR vibes, and I'm ok with that. Overall I liked the changes I saw, though it took a minute for me to figure out which vendor handled which thing since they've consolidated some.

I'm having fun with my first D4 character, a necromancer in season 3. I've reached tier 3 and have only died twice so far -- once in a helltide when I switched away to look up chest locations on the helltide website (really should have used my ipad for that, d'oh) and I was just ganked by a PVPer doing the purification ritual. I didn't realize that could happen without being bloodmarked but meh, 4000 dust who cares?

Having two monitors is handy for this kind of thing.

What exactly does the "reset dungeon" button on the map do, I don't want to click it if it will do something silly like erase all my earned aspects.
It resets the instance of that particular dungeon. It doesn't affect anything that you currently have, but if you left any loot sitting inside and reset, it's gone.

Huh, my first bugged dungeon - the apparently infamous missing anima bug in Stockade.

It doesn't change anything in your inventory. It resets all dungeons in the game such that when you enter them, it'll be like the first time you entered the dungeon.

Used mostly for boss farming. You beat them and get out of the dungeon. If you go back in, well the boss is still dead. So you have to reset the dungeons so the boss comes back after you enter. It changes only world state, not yours.

Thanks guys. I just got the "be lazy" unique ring for my Necromancer that auto-casts raise skele, corpse tendrils, and corpse explosion. Fun! Now I can just scythe mobs with reap and sever while explosions appear all around me.

I've added one more tier 3 death to my count, going up against the world boss for the first time yesterday. I guess I do need to move out of the way of those blue beams of deathening. Or remember that I have Blood Mist, one of those two.

With the nerfs Sorc and Barb received, what do we think the go to class for S4 will be?
I'm thinking Necro, but it's just so damn slow plodding along when everyone zips past you with their teleport or equiv spells o_O
It's not plodding along, it's a nice park stroll with a dozen of your best friends.

...with your buddies leaving little piles of gold for you as they rush ahead to play.

I did the tier 3 capstone last night at level 71 with my necro, then did a normal dungeon in tier 4 for the map reputation. I'm still using the 12 skeles + corpse skills + sever build instead of the more common sacrifice & bone, though I do sacrifice the golem since he isn't undead.

That sounds like a good idea for me next season, since Necro is the only one I've not played yet.

I was messing around and switched a mid level sorcerer over from lightning to ice earlier. I'd expected it to play slowly and with lots of control, but those frost novas were just going off all over the place, mowing down everything and it was a lot more fun than expected.

Is there anyone that is ROFLstomping T90+ Nightmare Vaults? I have to get one more thing in the last seasonal journey section to "finish" and get the titles etc. The three things I have left are do a T90+ NM Vault, Defeat Echo of Lilith in Torment IV, or get 10 tortured gifts in one Helltide. I've tried to get the 10 gifts in a single helltide but either have horrible luck finding dense clusters of mobs to suck up cinders, or just aren't fast enough at killing or something. I got creamed by the first mob I saw when I attempted to do a T91 vault of Copper. I am not an endgame player, I know my L100 barb is not optimal, and I don't even want to think about trying to do Lilith. Any chance I can ride the coattails of someone doing a 90+ vault?

Tier 4 really is a step up...I did 2 vaults tonight to finish the Khezimumble map renown and actually died. More than once! That's new.

Level 700 gear + used to being able to tank spike damage = not being careful enough. I guess I do need to pay attention and not just zone out. Or get some level 800+ gear and more paragon points (I just hit 101 points, level 72).

I can probably help with both if you catch me online (Lilith and NM Vaults). Lilith might take a few tries though since you can't cheese the 2nd half of the fight anymore so you actually have to dodge :flail:

It's necro according to Maxroll. I don't want to play necro again so soon, so I'll go back to druid I think. Just please no more barb for a season or two.

I just made it to level 80 in tier 4 with my first D4 character, the 12 skeles / Corpse + Sever necromancer. At this rate I won't get to see the level 100 Loom vault before the season ends, but I did manage to kill a Son of Malph in another nightmare vault so that was progress. The last time he popped up I was "whaa? why is a boss popping up here? ow! ow!" ::dies:: . This has been a fun few weeks so I'm ready to start my second character in the new season and take them up to 100.

It was kind of sad to get a great +4 corpse skills unique scythe....that's a 1-hander  . Losing 20% damage from Sever and 30% minion damage from the aspect on the shield or focus being half-power is too high a price.

I picked season 3 to run my first ever Barbarian, and happened upon the HOTA / Charge build with some lucky aspect drops. Then I found out just how silly it gets when you augment charge with ancients and explosions. This is the Diablo experience I was missing before - finally gives me the feeling I had in D3.

Made it to level 75 and completed the Capstone to reach Difficulty IV, which was new for me (I never managed to get that far with Druid in s1 or Rogue in s2). To commemorate my first season actually playing a lot, I splurged on the Season Pass. So here's a screenshot of the full Awoken Adamant set on my Barb:

Those shoulder pads are very silly, but to me it looks like Blizzard have started to make much nicer cosmetics than the crappy stuff they gave us in Seasons 1 and 2. I blame myself for having spent quite a bit on cosmetics in Lost Ark, so this was not a hard sell... :S

P.S. The glow in the dark effect on both the armour and the mount is quite effective in gloomy Diablo dungeons...

Hi everyone.

1. Good game.
2. Good main quest, good secondary quests, fun side activities (events) and collectibles (fortresses, statues of Lilith, etc.).
3. The fight between the church and the demons in hell is one of the best cinematics Blizzard have ever made, and that's saying something.

I won't be playing it in the new season -- too many other things to do -- but I'm very glad I bought it.

It's not entirely clear from your message whether you've never beaten Malphas, or just not the level 100 variant. If you can make your way to that tomb at any level, it's worth it: it's a good-looking boss with a well-designed fight.

Outfitting your ARPG character fashionably is essential. I haven't bought any cosmetics, but I dare say the free ones are gorgeous too. (And I love how well they're integrated into cutscenes.)

Thanks. I did do all the vault quests so I got to see and destroy the loom. I've been running nightmare vaults, but only in the tier 21-28 range because of my level.

I decided to bite the bullet and join after playing D3. Just speed ran season 3 for renown and campaign and it was quite fun. Really am looking forward to season 4.

I applied to clan but is there anything I need to do other then wait for accept?

On officer will accept your request once you have offered the requisite virgin sacrifice or first born child, whichever is more convenient.

Dinged level 85 and finished group 5 of the challenges on my final nightmare vault of the season, a tier 31. Ran into The Butcher and chopped him down.

On to season 4. Maybe a Sorcerer for my second character? It will be strange not to have 6 skele meat(less) shields in between me and the mobs though, with another 6 skele mages to split the attention.

Season update is live, 6.63GB

All existing items in the eternal characters are now legacy.

One nice thing: Since aspects on gear now enter the codex instead of inventory, they now have a message on any legendary with an aspect to let you know if that aspect is better than the one already in your codex. Good design.

Also, gems now have higher levels to use, so my mid levelled characters need to switch gems.
