My current ride is the Ferrari 250 GT Lusso. I have a weakness for the classics.

FH7-Screenshot-09-Medium.jpg

This is shot in the park in the middle of Tokyo. The lighting isn't quite what I wanted but Photo Mode in FH6 has the same limitations as FH5 with only coarse-grained control over the time of day.

The Lusso is a reward for shooting photos of 200 unique vehicles. I think there's another reward car up around the 500-vehicle point but it's going to take me a while to get there!

Edit: A bigger, nicer version is here. For some reason I couldn't seem to link it directly to the image.

FH6 has been working flawlessly on my Bazzite machine (FH5 was the same, no issues). I wanted to put a couple of hours of play time over the long weekend but on Friday when cutting some home made bread with my serrated bread knife I cut my left thumb. Blood started gushing out. Sucked and I'm now barely starting to play again, but need to be careful. My daughter got to enjoy it though, so positive on that front.

I'm having entirely too much fun hooning around in my 1994 Subaru Vivio that I've put a 2L four-cylinder engine into. 😁 It "only" puts out 169kW but it also now only weighs 757kg so it absolutely zips around. I could have gone more nuts and put a turbocharger on it and done more engine tweaks, but I wanted to keep it in Class B for the moment.

A screenshot of the Subaru Vivio, it's a very small red hatchback that's been lowered and big rims put on. The design of it very much brings to mind the Mazda 121 of the 90s. It's parked in a very narrow alley in Tokyo at night, with a bunch of lit-up shop signs stretching away down the alley, and it's been raising so there are water drops on the car and reflections in the puddles on the road in front of the car.

Refreshed after a short nap and fully hydrated, it was time to take on the Goliath. My reward after spending all that time? The "ballet" emote.

Undaunted, I then entered the Colossus. My prize? A yellow haori. That'll look good draped over my racing suit.

Time for a break. The Gauntlet will have to wait for another day. I'll probably end up with a novelty horn.

For the current autumn season, between reward cars and wheelspins, I ended up with 10 new cars including -- <drum roll> -- a Taycan! :D

Ah yes, there's nothing quite like that feeling of getting your first Taycan in a new Horizon installment.

I hate you, I still dont have a Taycan!

Yeah, my haul was also in that region in terms of cars. I think I got a total of 8 from wheelspins and rewards plus cash. The only seasonal reward I dont have yet is the speedzone, I even managed the Touge reward Huracan thanks to a not so smart cheater :D

I also ended up with 2 BE-1's, they sent out an email gifting it but when I did the seasonal delivery thing it gave me another one.

I don't have a Taycan yet, either. I remember in FH5, I ended up buying one because they were so useful for the stunts early. Then I won another one... And then I found one at a gift drop... And then I couldn't stop winning and finding them. :ROFLMAO:

Was it just me, or was the new seasonal Danger Sign more difficult than expected. 800ft in a Japanese B-class? I ended up having to grab an actual stunt car tune to get it. Then I breezed through the Trailblazer and Speed Zone both with it with absolutely no problem. So at least I built the thing for more than just one jump. lol

I made the jump on my 3rd try with a tuned rally Subaru with 3 feet to spare so yes :)

Trailblazer was very easy, I thought

Holy crap that Mazda Furai is fast and sticks like glue. Way faster than the time attack cars. A very intense race, talk about driving in fast-forward! 😲

I'm having entirely too much fun hooning around in my 1994 Subaru Vivio that I've put a 2L four-cylinder engine into.

Did you know there's a Forza Edition of the Vivio? I've never seen one in a wheelspin or a used car lot but one popped up in a race I ran:

FH7-Screenshot-10-Medium.jpg

So it's another time attack style car.

I usually race in the cockpit view. But the view from the Pagani Huayea is absolutely atrocious. It's like looking through a bunker slit and even worse, it cuts off the left side a lot. You just can't see any apexes towards the left. Naturally I found this out while trying it on the Legend Island circuit which is predominately left hand corners. Grrrr.

So I have completed my usual weird Horizon obsession and all 162 unique cars in my collection have been driven and raced. <whew> BTW, anyone know how to determine how many unique cars you have? In FH5 we went to the Car Collection screen but as far as I can tell, that's gone. It's not too big a deal now, early in the game's life, but will become increasing annoying as we inevitably collect duplicates.

I also ended up with 2 BE-1's, they sent out an email gifting it but when I did the seasonal delivery thing it gave me another one.
I was one of the players who had already done that first job. Got the BE-1 in the email, but I think it means I'm still missing 3 points for the season since it's not counted as completed. Doing another job didn't help.

Having two BE-1s could be cool. FH6 seems to included more bodykit options than before so it might be handy to keep one BE-1 stock and go wild with the other.

Was it just me, or was the new seasonal Danger Sign more difficult than expected. 800ft in a Japanese B-class?
I just used a Subie with the Automatic Tune to the top of B class and added off-road tires (rally tires would probably be just as good). That cleared the distance with just a couple of feet to spare, similar to Tijger's run.

Nice going on the car collection!

I had to do that event twice. First time I forgot that you need to be running a Mazda so had to repeat it with an appropriate car. Weird thing is I won both times despite sucking at that sort of track. Each opponent took off like a shot and left me in the dust but when we hit the corners I quickly closed and overtook them. Were they playing with a keyboard???

Second attempt was funny. My opponent was driving a Cobra Daytona Coupe with some sort large diameter wheels and tires. Almost looked like a donked Shelby. :\

Hey, I play with a keyboard! I dont have a problem cornering, its all about being aware of speed and angles for me

Maybe Subi's fly better than Mitsubishis? My stock rally Evo missed it by about 40 feet, so I went and tossed some horsepower bolt-ons on it to bring it to the top of B. Then still missed by <10ft. 3 times. So I got annoyed and brought out a souped-up Datsun. :D That did it with only a few feet to spare, despite being a true beast. But yeah, I think I had like 44 seconds remaining (14 to spare) in the trailblazer, and I think a good 9 mph or more to spare on the speed zone. Easy single tries on those two.

I think I found my problem with crashing the game on PC. I had enabled the nVidia Low Latency option. Since who doesn't want low latency in a fast racing game? Apparently I don't, as it seems to be what was tanking stability. I only had one crash after turning that option off.... and that was when Windows Update decided it wanted to prompt me to reboot in the middle of a race. Some things never change...

Oops, sorry! I was thinking about how badly I'd fare if I tried playing that way, I'd suck at touge even more than I do now. If I could apologize by sending you a Taycan, I would. ;)

Hehe, its all good, I am terrible with controllers these days and I do know they are likely better in Forza they just dont work for me.
I manage to win fairly regularly in PvP races so I am ok with it.

So it used to be you could easily see which of your cars you hadnt taken a picture of yet, there was even a button for it. In FH 6 there is no such button. You can see which cars you havent photographed yet but not whether you own those cars.

Sounds like something they need to add as a QoL feature because its a pain to track which cars you havent snapped now.

Yup, they could simply add an "Owned" tag to the name of the car. Alternately, they could use the Discover Japan / Car Collection screen, it shows which cars you own. It needs to be enhanced with a count of how many unique cars you own and at least a little Camera icon in the description to show if you've snapped it yet. Maybe make the icon light gray if you haven't, then you can click on it to go into Photo Mode, and a black icon if you're already taken a snap. Or some better workflow.

Meanwhile -- "Get outta the way! I've gotta deliver these noodles while they're still hot!"

I just picked this up early Friday morning, and have been having a blast so far, as I typically do with FH games. Looks great, plays great, and have already had some laughs out in the world watching the antics of some of the other players. And bowie knife99. I will continue to put you into the wall. Or oncoming traffic, because that's way more fun.

And modifying the garages is super simple. Just select some small item like a box on the floor, hit the button or key to Clone it, swing the clone over a foot or two and place it. Save your "modified" garage and repeat for the others. Instant F40.

You might be able to just move an existing item a bit to satisfy the modification criteria, I didn't try that.

I just got the Nissan GT-R FE in a wheelspin...that thing is totally insane

I set a highway speed trap record (for me) of 475 Km/h and recorded a top speed (it was still accelerating going through the speed trap) of 480 km/h...thats 300 mph! Might have gone higher but I chickened out, lol

It doesnt steer worth a damn and it doesnt brake well but boy does it accelerate!

Since I upgraded to the 5070Ti (and then had to go back to the store for an upgraded PSU) I haven't seen a single crash. I'm really enjoying it.
Glad to hear it worked out! Given the current state of the market, it probably cost more than you might have preferred but hey, we need our toys.

Nice! Another one for me to look forward to.

So what did the Ferrari J50 driver say to the one in the GMC Jimmy?

FH7-Screenshot-12-Medium.jpg

"Remember, this is a drag race, not a monster truck show. No crushing please."

when playing at my highest level, I would prefer a camera somewhere near the front bumper of the car. These days, I prefer one showing me the car from behind. I've never had good success from inside the car, too confining and also perhaps too realistic.

Today I was driving and had trouble recovering from a loss of traction. I noticed, to my surprise, than one can depress the controller trigger halfway, or less than all the way, and it affected my throttle control. I don't generally drive 100% or 0% throttle, so why would I drive that way in a game?? Maybe it's true there can be too much realism in gaming!

You might get some folks saying "but inside the car is the most realistic". Well, unless you have a head tracker, pinning your view to inside the car and straight ahead is far from what I'd consider realistic. My neck moves.

I'm always in bonnet-cam view, it feels the most realistic to me because I can see the bonnet so I feels like I'm in the car but without all the extra restriction of the in-car view (and it's very satisfying when you're driving some old muscle car with the engine poking out the top and you see the mechanical bits moving around). The bumper-cam is too low for me, and it feels a bit disconnected because you don't see any of the car. I never ever use the external views because it feels weird, and I'm absolutely awful at controlling the car since it turns before the camera starts turning. :p

[EDIT] Also the in-car view is feels extra weird to me because of the strange movements of your character's hands on the steering wheel as you're turning since it's reacting to just the control stick moving left and right.

There's a second in-car view positioned a bit further forward and it doesn't show the character's hands or the steering wheel. That's what I almost always use, I find the moving hands distracting.

3 stars on all Danger sign including the one from the docks into the city. Took a fair few tries because, man, the angle there has to be JUST right but I got nice new BMW 2 FE for the effort, I'm pleased about that.

Dont know if anyone else has experienced this and its rare but I suddenly found all the roads completely empty, this is the second time I've encountered it and I dont think there was anything in common between the two occurences. Did make setting 3 stars on a few runs a LOT easier, I hadnt managed the Shibuya crossing thus far but now its at 3 as well :)

I think your recollections are correct. It seems that the game spawns the same amount of traffic around you no matter the location. Hopefully will be corrected in the future. The joy of live service games! :)

For some reason the game added a Nissan GT-R F.E. to the grid of my most recent race for hypercars. It is definitely set up for drag racing with huge rear slicks etc. That would explain the lack of cornering and braking!

Edit: I pity the fools who think they can sneak by my F-450 Forza Edition. Don't they know that makes me mad? You don't want to see me mad.

Well, I don't think I'm going to be making it to the Golden Wristband level unless it takes a lot less to get there than I think... I'm absolutely dogshit at drifting, and I don't care to do the cross-country events because I find both the vehicles you have to use and the races themselves to be utterly uninteresting. I do not give a single shit about driving giant pickup trucks or buggies, they're the most boring vehicles.

Normal road racing (my favorite) and dirt racing (almost rally style) ultimately give quite a few points. I don't care much for cross country either but there's no shame in turning down the difficulty just to get them over and done with.

Speed traps, speed zones, and danger signs give you the points you need too. Even points for the bonus boards add up. I believe you also get some points for doing a run at the three time trial circuits in each of the 7 car levels.

Drifting is my least enjoyable event type and I tend to yell at the screen a lot. It was mentioned upthread that it's harder to do with a wheel than a controller so that may be part of my problem. Besides lack of talent. ;)

Just stick with what interests you and see how far it takes you. I found it took longer to get from Purple to Golden than the other wristbands.
